Biography
Alex creates bold graphic artwork using cut out, collage and print techniques to combine imagery drawn from an extensive personal archive of found and self generated graphic material. He also sources specific imagery as needed from stock or a wide range of free-to-use sources.
Originally a printmaker, Alex now explores both digital and analogue processes to build on this heritage, generating powerful narrative and visual ideas that play with the intersections and boundaries of colour, graphic form, mark making, texture and the photographic image.
Commercially, Alex has an editorial interest in investigating contemporary issues and working on themes around politics, culture and social engagement. He produces a wide range of work for clients in the advertising, corporate, editorial and publishing fields.

Alex lectured for several years on the 'Graphic Communication’ BA (Hons) course at Bath Spa University having previously taught 'Design for Interaction and Moving Image' BA (Hons) at London College of Communication and BA (Hons) ‘Illustration’ at University of West England, Bristol. He has also worked as an External Examiner in Visual Communications at the Royal College of Art, and is currently employed as External Examiner to the BA (Hons) Illustration course at Brighton University.
