Michael Howard aka NVM Illustration has been a freelance illustrator since 2012.

Graduating from the Manchester School of Art, Michael's work reflects an obsession with iconography and semiotics whilst exploring; punk, patches, tattoos, stickers and graffiti. In turn creates detailed illustrations, portraits or however, these things manifest. Striving to create a conflict between the hard and soft, through colour, subject matter or individual elements. Sometimes by adding just enough detail so that each time a piece is viewed there is always something new to look at. His golden rule is always to create something good enough to eat.

His technique lies in traditional hand-drawn illustrations and detailed ink linework. Working by hand and then digitally composing pieces to give an organic yet graphic feel to each piece, with layered textures of gold leaf, handmade paper and vibrant colours without restriction.
