Biography

Michelle Dwyer is a London-based letterpress artist and founder of Nice & Graphic studio. She creates large-scale typographic installations that transform language into bold, spatial statements, repositioning traditional letterpress as a contemporary public medium.
Working with wood-block type and vibrant gradients, Dwyer produces immersive wall works, campaign-led commissions, and participatory projects that translate stories, values, and shared voices into physical form. Her practice bridges craft, culture, and communication, moving letterpress beyond the page and into architectural and commercial spaces.

She has exhibited in London and internationally. In August 2024, she presented her debut solo exhibition, Peckham Perspective, a series of nearly 300 hand-printed posters that amplified local voices and raised funds for the Southwark-based charity PECAN. In March 2025, she exhibited in a group show at GRAGRA Gallery in Madrid, Spain, alongside Alan Kitching, presenting a new typographic work titled The British Tongue.

Alongside her studio practice, she leads community workshops and open days, expanding access to printing techniques through public engagement.

Dwyer trained at the London Centre for Book Arts and works as an assistant to renowned typographic artist Alan Kitching.
