Oscar Wilson and Canongate Books Win Best Jacket Design Award
We are proud to announce that Oscar Wilson’s illustration for Canongate Books Gil Scott Heron Memoir: ‘The Last Holiday’ won the Best Jacket Design category at last night’s [url=http://www.britishbookawards.org/2012/default.aspx]British Book Awards[/url]. The judges commented on the work: “This arresting design evokes 60s counter-culture art in a contemporary and well-realised concept, with front/rear covers and spine working together to create a powerful and effective image.” Oscar worked closely with Art Director Rafi Romaya to deliver this winning piece of work. As a massive fan of soul / funk / jazz music; Oscar was delighted to be involved with the project, and very proud that his first ever typographic portrait was of such a great as Gil Scott Heron. Tado / Tai Po Mega Mall Halloween Celebrations

The 'Halloween Planet' setting included 3D stage props, [url=http://www.debutart.com/illustration/tado/tai-po-mega-mall-cat]bespoke large scale fibreglass figures[/url], promotional giveaway items and a lot of ghoulish fun! The pair even had the opportunity to design some special Halloween snacks for the occasion - 'Bloody Finger Fries' anyone?? [url=http://www.debutart.com/illustration/joe-wilson]Joe[/url] was honoured to work on the poster for such a great documentary about an incredible talent, the father of stop frame animation and special effects. For those who don’t know, [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Harryhausen]Ray Harryhausen[/url] is a visual effects creator best known for his work on [url=http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0057197/]Jason and the Argonauts[/url] and the original [url=http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0082186/]Clash of the Titans[/url].
