Andy Lovell / LUSH x Mother's Day
We are extremely pleased to share Andy Lovell's collaboration with LUSH Cosmetics to create these beautiful floral designs celebrating UK Mother's Day on the 26th March. Andy's bold and expressive monoprints feature on a series of LUSH's signature knot-wraps. Their decision to work with Andy for this special project was based on his passion for nature, evident in all of his work and in his everyday artistic practice. Commenting on the symbolic significance of blooms being the sole focus of his designs, Andy said, “It seems entirely appropriate to be depicting the purity, strength and beauty of these simple flowers as a metaphor for the qualities found in our marvellous mothers.” You can read more about the collaboration here. A World Like Nowhere Else / Royal Ascot 2017
We are delighted to share Joe Wilson’s collaboration with Antidote and Ascot Racecourse ‘A World Like Nowhere Else’: a bespoke, hand-painted globe telling the story of Royal Ascot’s long-standing traditions and rich heritage. Joe’s illustrations depict some of the most iconic and recognised elements of Ascot, including the Royal Procession, the renowned Greencoats, Afternoon Tea, the famous bandstand, and of course the well-heeled attendees, all rendered in his exquisite and fine detailing. London-based globe makers Bellerby & Co. took the globe to its final iteration, cutting, painting and applying Joe’s illustrations to the structure by hand to create the wonderful final piece. The globe was unveiled at The Goring Hotel in London and is now on a tour of London and the South East for public viewing. Celebrating 'Alan Kitching: A Life in Letterpress'
Début Art is proud to support Alan Kitching and Laurence King Publishing in a series of upcoming events celebrating the launch of ‘Alan Kitching: A Life in Letterpress’ the bookshop edition, published by Laurence King March 2017. The first of these will be ‘Alan Kitching: Letterpress Prints’, an exhibition of both acclaimed and new works from Alan Kitching presented by Advanced Graphics London and showing at the Coningsby Gallery from 11th – 15th April 2017. We are thrilled to welcome Alan back to the Coningsby Gallery for what promises to be an exciting show, marking the status he has earned as a world renowned typographer, designer and letterpress practitioner. Alan will also be present for an exclusive book-signing event at the exhibition on the 15th April 2017 from 12 noon until 3pm. Succeeding this, ‘Alan Kitching and John L. Andrew Archer / Daytona 500 / FOX Sports
We are proud to reveal Andrew Archer's most recent animation collaboration with FOX Sports. Andrew’s bold, dynamic illustration style has always paired well with sports, last year attracting the attention of Formula E who commissioned him to create illustrations for their worldwide OOH and on-site marketing campaign. The start of this year has lead to another racing-related project, this time with FOX Sports to promote the Daytona 500. In the TV spot, NASCAR racer Denny Hamlin reminisces about his childhood dream of winning the infamous track race, recounting a touching essay he wrote in second grade where he outlines in painstaking detail his imagined moment of success, and what is was like to achieve that ambition in 2016. Andrew worked to create the style frames and assets illustrating Hamlin’s childhood fantasy, and the resulting animation brings these vivid imaginings to life.
